Jessica Powell

Jessica Powell was born and raised in Carrollton, TX. She trained at DCJ Dance for 16 years and for 9 of those years, was part of the Divas Competition Team. Jess began working professionally in the DFW area at the age of 16 and continued until she moved to Las Vegas, NV at the age of 20.

She performed at corporate events choreographed by Michael Schwandt and Peter Anthony, and was a featured dancer at the Super Bowl XLV private tailgate party. In 2011 she was crowned Miss Plano’s Outstanding Teen and while competing for the crown of Miss Texas’ Outstanding Teen, her ballet en pointe solo choreographed by Dianne Cole Johnson won Alpha and Overall Talent. After turning 18, she auditioned for FOX’s hit series, “So You Think You Can Dance” where she earned a ticket straight to the Las Vegas round.

In 2014 she moved to Las Vegas, NV where she was part of the Devadasi Dancers at the House of Blues Foundation Room, a dancer and model with Melissa Vargo Productions and Dragon Talent Group, and was a dancer and emcee at Coyote Ugly. She can also been seen in music videos for artist Coolio’s, “Make it Bump” and Rackelle Jurdi’s, “Habibi”. For 4 years she was a company member with Dallas based group 8&1 Dance Company where she was a featured artist in Dallas and New York City performances. In 2017 she spent 8 months performing for New York’s, RWS Entertainment Group and Holland America Line on the MS Koningsdam. She recently moved back to Dallas and finished her second contract working for Larrwell Productions performing at the 2018 Mary Kay Cosmetics Seminars.

Jess still trains and performs nationwide and is excited to bring her firecracker energy home and come full circle with DCJ as a teacher.
